System log time lag

Does anyone have information on the update frequency of the system log in the portal?  There appears to be a time lag (not related to time zone differences). 

Also, is there any way to see events in real time (or a least near real time)?

Hi Tony - we have a new system log capability (in Beta currently) that pushes events in near real time (generally <1 second). If you'd like to enable the feature in your environment, please reach out to support and ask them for access to the new system log.

I saw that previously only the last 1000 logs would pull with the Events API. How do we adjust that value to get more than 1000 records?
