Sign on widget for single app only

I'm working with a project that lets you sign in with the okta sso widget to open up our website's admin page, download some settings and then post changes.
When you sign on using the widget, it signs you on on okta, allowing you to access your account on okta without having to renew your login there, eventhough you're only supposed to have gained access to our website.
Is there any setting I'm missing that changes how this works?

Hi Niels,

If you're not using the Sign-In Widget with OpenID Connect, then you most likely use the setCookieAndRedirect we mention in our code snippets such as this one (http://developer.okta.com/code/javascript/okta_sign-in_widget_ref.html#example). However, you don't have to use it if 1) you don't need to make any further call to the Okta API and 2) you can bootstrap and manage sessions in your own app using the SUCCESS response (http://developer.okta.com/docs/api/resources/authn.html#response-example-success) from the Okta Authentication API.

If you're using OpenID Connect however, you are indeed automatically signed in into Okta (including the dashboard) after a successful response, so please contact our Developers support team at developers@okta.com so we can better assist you.
