Is there a way to EXTEND the OKTA Application from timing out?
We depend on OKTA throughout the day here in Integrated Website Services at Northwestern Mutual. In order to assist our client on a timely manner we (our team) rely on OKTA to be available ALL DAY as needed. We're becoming a fast pace call center environment and count on OKTA to be available as needed versus timing out if not being used within a certain time. This issue delays the timeliness of assisting our clients.
Yes this is possible. If you go to the Okta admin console, select "Security", "Policies" and then select the "Okta Sign-on" Tab you can associate sign-on policies against different groups of users. Here you will be able to craft the policy with suitable security controls for the different type of users. Below is a screen shot that I use for my Administrators, where I want to do the reverse and have a shorter window time.
But you could of course have a longer session lifetime to suit your needs.
