Update IDP API creates a duplicate IDP and leaves one idp status as inactive

When i try to use the UI and update my SAML IDP, I dont see the audience URI changing or a new IDP being created. But when I invoke the same, I see that a new IDP is created and the status is set to inactive. Can someone help me out here ?
