what should be done if i forget the answer to the security question?
Currenty if a user forgets their password they can have an email sent to them or an sms text. After they recieve the password reset link they are then challenged with a security question that they filled out during their registration. What if a user forgets the answer to the security question?
Currently the only way to reset a Security Question for a user in Okta is via the Okta API using either the "Set Recovery Credential" or "Change Recovery Question" User API commands. We do not have a method of performing this via the UI currently.
While we do not have this feature currently, I do agree that it would be a great addition to Okta. I would recommend filing a new feature request for this functionality. To submit this as a feature request, go to https://community.okta.com/ and then log in and click on the "Ideas" button in the top-right hand corner of the page, and then select "Post Idea" on the next page. This will open a feature request for other members of the community, including our own Product Managers, to see and vote on.
