If you integrate AD with Okta, how do you remove @DOMAIN.local from end of AD username?

For example, the user logs in as flastname, but when importing into Okta, it looks like flastname@DOMAIN.local

Hi Okta Admin,
This is Bogdan from Okta support,
the userName that is being imported from AD into Okta is set by AD.
There are four required attributes that have to be imported into Okta in order to create a user properly:firstName, lastName, email,UPN.
If the user does not have an email address in AD, Okta will use his UPN hence the @domain.local
The userName format should always be in an email format: example@example.com
Please feel free to open a support case with Okta to discuss this use case scenario further.
