Our org is experiencing brute force attacks from one or several IP addresses

Issue: Suspicious login attempts that are originating from one or more IP addresses need to be blocked.

Applies To: Network Zones

Resolution: 
  • In Okta Admin console, navigate to Security->Network
    • If the BlockedIpZone option does not appear as below, contact Okta Support and ask to enable the Network Zones component for your Okta org (see Notes below for more information)

  • ​Click the pencil icon next to BlockedIPZone
  • In the Gateway IP's field, enter the IP address or IP range that needs to be blocked
  • Click Save
Notes: 
  • the Network Zones component is currently in EA, and will be incorporated as a GA feature in a future release.  See our Okta Release Cycle for details about our release lifecycle.
