New Features

  • All custom attributes, including whether an attribute is required or not, are now published in the metadata for SAML. You can download the metadata by clicking the Download metadata link from Security > Identity Providers.

  • We have simplified how admins configure Mobile only apps. When admins configure the Sign On settings, there is a new No Sign On option for those apps that don't require any sign on information.

If the No Sign On option is selected, the App Settings under the General tab for that app are limited to only those that are relevant. See Using the Okta Applications Page.

iOS Support

On March 1, 2016, Okta will discontinue support for iOS 7.x. After that date, Okta Customer Support will no longer investigate issues related to iOS 7. For more details see Okta Mobile and Okta Verify Supported Versions. To learn about Okta’s version support information, see our new Supported Configurations page.

Okta Developer Platform Update

New SAML IdP instances now default to strong signatures with SHA-256, so that you don't have to configure advance settings in either ADFS or Okta. Existing app instances are not affected.

Documentation for the Okta Developer Platform is available at http://developer.okta.com.

Incremental Features Summary

The following table summarizes features that are enabled incrementally. Links in the Feature column point to additional documentation for that feature, if available. After the feature is fully released, it is no longer tracked in this table. For release history of all features, see Features by Release.
