Okta has several resources to help you deploy Okta Multifactor Authentication (MFA).

Prerequisites - suggested but not required.

  1. Familiarize yourself with Okta MFA Concepts.
  2. Decide which authentication factors you want to enable for your organization, defined in Okta MFA Concepts.

Install and Configure

Now that you are familiar with Okta MFA and the available authentication factors, you are ready to deploy Okta MFA.

Enable MFA and select your authentication factor types. Your company may enforce the authentication factor types you select. Choices include:
  • Okta Verify
  • Google Authenticator
  • SMS Authentication
  • Voice Call Authentication
  • Symantec VIP
  • Security Question

Options:

Onboarding

Help your organization's end users set up MFA on their preferred device or application. The End User Toolkit contains quick reference content to help your end users set up MFA on their chosen authentication factor. You can also find help in the End User FAQ.

If an end-user experiences difficulties you may have to reset their MFA settings. See Resetting MFA for help.
