Using JIT User Reactivation and Profile Sync User Reactivation
Published: Jan 10, 2015   -   Updated: Nov 18, 2016

Please note: this page is no longer being updated and may not show current information.

The following two features are primary ways that Okta can quickly automate the reactivation process for inactive users.

JIT User Reactivation allows inactive Okta users to be reactivated through JIT lookup at sign-in time if they are shown to be active in a JIT-enabled directory.

Profile Sync User Reactivation allows inactive Okta users to be reactivated through asynchronous user imports.

Please note:

  • Scheduled incremental imports identify updates based on the "usnChanged" number in the User object in Active Directory. Therefore, an incremental import will not reactivate users that were marked as "inactive" prior to enablement of the Profile Sync User Reactivation feature.
  • A manual, full import updates all inactive Okta users that are listed as "active" in Active Directory.
