About Microsoft Office 365 Provisioning
Published: Jan 10, 2015   -   Updated: Jun 22, 2018

Okta supports provisioning for MS office 365. This means you can:

  • Import users from Microsoft Office 365 to create new Okta users.
  • Provision new Microsoft 365 accounts from Okta. When enabled, Okta creates new Microsoft Office 365 accounts when you assign the app to Okta users.
  • Push Okta user profile updates to Microsoft Office 365. When enabled, Okta updates a user's Microsoft Office 365 profile when the app is assigned.
  • Deprovision unassigned Microsoft 365 accounts. When enabled, Okta automatically deactivates a user's Microsoft Office 365 account when you unassign it from a user in Okta, or deactivate their Okta account in Okta.
  • Push an Okta password to Microsoft Office 365. When enabled, this changes a user's Microsoft Office 365 password to their Okta password.  When users change their Okta passwords, they are automatically synchronized with Microsoft Office 365.

You can enable and configure this option from the Provisioning tab. For more information about integrating Microsoft Office 365, see the The Office 365 Deployment Guide.
