Solution

The following video shows how to set up policies for a passwordless experience.
 


Here are the steps to set up policies in Okta for a passwordless experience with FastPass:

  1. Log in to the Okta account and go to the Admin Console.
  2. Go to Security > Global Session Policy.
  3. Add a Rule for the Global Session Policy and set Establish the user session with to Any factor used to meet the Authentication Policy requirements.
  4. And Multifactor authentication (MFA) is to Not required.

  5. After that, set up the Authentication Policy and add the application for which this policy will apply. In this case, use the Okta Dashboard.
  6. The User must authenticate with must be set to Possession factor, with the option to either require User Interaction, such as biometrics/ passcode, or exempt it altogether.

  7.  Once these steps are performed, please note that due to the Global session policy changes, specifically on Establish the user session with: Any factor, it will change the Sign in page prompt to only prompt for Username first, and the Password field moves to the second page for users not assigned the Okta verify fast pass.
